PURPOSE:To prevent the end of a wire coil from being wound up by making the coil end gradually wider when the wire coil is brought from the down ender and loaded on the horizontal hanger. CONSTITUTION:The supporting plate 13 for supporting the coil end is brought forward to a virtual end position for the shortest possible coil length by the pusher 14 driven by the cylinder 20. When the wire coil 1 fed by the down-ender comes in the horizontal hanger 9, the supporting plate 13 located on the hook side is pushed by the wire coil 1, and retracts. The supporting plate 13 adjusted to have an angle by means of the angle adjustment bolt 15 presses the top of the coil end. While this situation is held, the finger of the down-ender opens, and the down-ender descends simultaneously, windening the coil 1 laterally, but the top of the coil end pressed by the supporting plate only is stopped from spreading, and therefore, prevented from being wound over the end ring.
