PURPOSE:To provide a composition of improved strength, modulus and heat distortion resistance, small in the anisotropy, good in the appearance of molded article therefrom, comprising wholly aromatic copolyester and potassium titanate fiber with the free potassium content below specific level. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by blending (A) 30-95wt% of a wholly aromatic copolyester of formula (X is 1-4C alkyl, O, SO2, S, etc.; m and n are each 0 or 1; d:e=1:1-10:1; e:f=9:10-10:9; the substituents at the aromatic ring being in para or meta state each other) pref. a combination of p-hydroxybenzoic acid (ester), terephthalic acid (ester), and 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl (ester) and (B) 70-5wt% of potassium titanate fiber with an average length 5-150 (pref. 10-30)mum, average diameter 0.05-2 (pref. 0.1-0.5)mum, and free potassium content <=0.25wt% followed by kneading under molten state.
