PURPOSE:To position a magnetic head to a track on target even if an expansion or an eccetricity exist in a disk sheet, by reading the information of a position dislocation amount recorded in a reference track of a concentric circle of a track in a recording area, and correcting a head position with respect to a track in the recording area. CONSTITUTION:Outside a recording area, at a position dislocated by 1/2 track pitch relative to a track in the recording area, a correcting amount M and a correcting direction D are considered, a first reference track 4 correcting a head position (off number sector) and a second reference track 5 (even number sector) are formed. When positioning in the track in the recording area, based on the correcting amount M and the correcting direction D obtained from the reference tracks 4, 5, the position of the head is corrected. Thereby, even if there are an expansion or an eccentricity in a disk sheet, with respect to the recording track, the magnetic head 2 can be precisely positioned.
