PURPOSE:To form a bar stock highly precisely by performing the first bending in accordance with a spring-back factor calculated previously, and correcting the factor by sampling the relation of load-displacement of the stock in a load removing stage. CONSTITUTION:A bar stock K is fitted to the supporting points R, L of both supporting dies, and at the time of the first bending, a prescribed pressing force P is applied to the stock K at the application point of a central die in accordance with a spring-back factor caluculated previously. At the succeeding load-removing stage, the relation of load-displacement of the stock K is sampled while decreasing the pressing force P, to correct the spring-back factor K based on the sampled values. Thereafter, the pressing force P is applied, in accordance with the corrected spring-back factor, to bend the stock K. This control is performed by including the inherent error of a bending device. In this way, a bar stock can be formed highly precisely.
