PURPOSE:To attain retransmission of error even when a reception error is generated at an end of a picture signal by awaiting the equipment for a prescribed period when a picture signal is finished for transmission and sending a procedure signal after it is confirmed that no error takes place at the reception side. CONSTITUTION:When an impulse noise is generated once or over amidst the transmission or picture information and an error of >=3 lines takes place at the reception side, the reception side equipment sends an NACK signal and a transmission side equipment detects a PIS signal to interrupt the sending of the picture information. The reception side equipment uses an NSF signal of V21 modulation to transmit information such as retransmission start line/fall back in succession with the PIS signal to the transmission side equipment. The NSF signal is used to inform the last line number received correctly to the transmission side equipment. Based on the said signal, the transmission side equipment retransmits picture information from a line next to the designated line by the reception side.
