PURPOSE:To shorten the start time for reproduction by constituting a lifter for reproduction element so that this element can be set at a position distant from the signal recording surface of an information recording disk and also at a position of the waiting height lower than the reproduction stop height and setting the reproduction element at the position of the waiting height when the reproduction is discontinued temporarily. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction stop height H1 of a reproduction stylis 3 is larger than the top of a track guard 5b set at the outer circumference of a disk 5. When a mobile contact bar 10a of a switch 10 is connected to a contact 101, a current i1 flows to a coil 9 from a power supply 11. Then the magnetic field of the coil 9 affects a permanent magnet bar 8 and the revolving power is given to a cantilever 7. Thus the cantilever 7 is turned while giving the elastic twist to a support arm 6. The stylus 3 moves down to the reproduction enable position H3 and has contact with a signal recording surface 5a of the disk 5. When the bar 10a is connected to a contact 102, a current i2 (i1) flows to the coil 9 and the stylus 3 is set at the height H2 for waiting. The position H2 is higher than the position H3 and considerably lower than the position H1.
