PURPOSE:To obtain a chlorinated polyethylene compsn. which gives a crosslinked product having good mechanical characteristics, weather resistance and compression set, by blending a chlorinated PE, an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer, a dehydrochlorination inhibitor and an epoxy compd. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. consists of 100pts.wt. chlorinated polyethylene, 30-150pts.wt. ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer, 0.1-20pts.wt. dehydrochlorination inhibitor and 1.0-20pts.wt. epoxy group-contg. compd. As the chlorinated polyethylene, non-crystalline chlorinated polyethylene having a chlorine content of 27-45wt% is preferred. The suitable molecular weight is 50,000-700,000. An ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer having a melt index of 1.0-150g/10min is preferred. Examples of the dehydrochlorination inhibitors are metallic soaps, inorg. metal salt blends and organotin compds.
