PURPOSE:To reduce the manual work of an operator by inputting the profile coordinates of an object at a manual trace while precision is secured. CONSTITUTION:Since a cross section image is made by inputting coordinates at discontinuous points, a profile line connecting discontinuous points has to be estimated. Here a CPU 2 takes the instance of polar coordinates with a body axis 0 as a center, and obtains a distance between a point 0 to each point. Then a graph as shown in figure can be available, and accordingly the arithmetic such as interpolation is executed so as to connect each point by a smooth line. The profile line 8 of each cross section image is obtained, and an area (number of picture elements) in the profile line 8 is calculated. Finally the production between the area and the thickness of the cross section plane is added at every each cross section image, thereby obtaining the volume of an object viscera.
