PURPOSE:To produce a casting having no casting defects by setting a virtual heat insulating surface so as not to disturb the heat flow in a casting mold, determining heat flow fluxes with plural pieces of divided elements, predicting the solidifying condition and making up a casting plan. CONSTITUTION:The virtual heat insulating surface 16 is set to the casting mold for the purpose of analysis and the section of the casting 13 is divided to 12 angular shapes from an angular part 1 up to an angular part 12. The heat absorbing characteristics (heat flow fluxes) intrinsic to the respective independent parts are determined and the heat flow fluxes from numbers 0-9 are given. The number 1 denotes the absence of the heat flow flux as a boundary condition, the number 2 the heat flow flux to the plane casting mold, the number 3 the heat flow flux from the heat flow flux of the plane casting mold from the two faces plus the heat flow flux of the external angle, the number 4 the minus heat flow flux of the internal angle, the number 5 the heat flow flux by the casting mold of 1cm thickness and the number 6 the heat flow flux by the external angle of the plus width 2cm of the casting mold of 2cm thickness. The heat transmission is calculated with the elements in the casting according to the above-mentioned numbers and the casting design is changed when a casting defect is predicted. The defect is thus prevented.
