PURPOSE:To produce a spherical inorganic substance having the superior quality without sticking of a powdery material on a furnace wall by taking out the fine powder of the inorganic substance which is injected together with the flame through a burner provided to an inlet of a horizontal-type rotary melting furnace and heat-treated while being rolled and cooled. CONSTITUTION:Both a gaseous fuel and a powdery raw material (<=2,800 deg.C m.p. and <=500mu maximum particle size) of inorganic substance such as silicon which is sucked in a combustion-supporting gas such as O2 are fed to a burner which is provided to one end of a rotary furnace (a rotary kiln type) and has a structure obtaining the high-temp. long flame. The large parts of the raw material injected together with the flame fall down in the furnace and is rolled, cooled and collected in an exhaust hood. One part is transported together with an exhaust gas and recovered with a bag filter. Since the powdery material stuck on the furnace wall is immediately scraped down by the falling and rolling powdery material and can be effectively cooled and recovered,the stable and continuous operation is enabled. Thereby the spherical ceramic particles having no attachment of particles are produced easily and efficiently.
