PURPOSE:To exchange heat in a heat exchanger by utilizing the variation of latent heat of operating liquid and improve heat transfer performance by a method wherein a connecting section is provided at the upper part of a generator in a pipeline, connecting the generator to the heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A liquid reserving tank 4 is arranged above the generator 2, reserving the operating liquid of latent heat medium and generating the vapor thereof, and an operating liquid level in the tank 4 is detected by a level detector 3. The heat exchanger 11 is provided in a heat exchanging tank 10 located below the tank 4 and the upper part of the generator 2 is connected to the upper part of the tank 4 through a communicating pipe 9 while a valve mechanism 8, whose opening and closing are controlled by the level detector 3, is provided at the connecting section between the tank 4 and the communicating pipe 9. Further, the upper part of the generator 2 is connected to the heat exchanger 11 through a sending pipe 12 and the tank 4 is connected to the heat exchanger 11 through a return pipe 13 while a non-return valve 5 is provided on the way of the return pipe 6, connecting the generator 2 to the lower part of the tank 4.
