PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency of the time of command input processing by providing a storage means which has stored a guidance and a parameter for a command of a soft key, and a control means for displaying its contents. CONSTITUTION:When an extension key 82 on a keyboard 8 is operated, a soft key is displayed on a display device 20. Subsequently, when a key on the keyboard 8 corresponding to the soft key which has been displayed on the device 20 is operated, a command name is displayed on the device 20. Next, a character code for showing a guidance is read out by referring to an area GDTBL-ADR of a RAM 6 in which an address for showing an area for storing a parameter to its command has been stored, and referring to an area GDTBL in which a guidance of its command parameter has been stored, and its guidance is displayed on the device 20 through a character generator 22. A control of these operations is executed by a CPU 2. In this way, by selecting the soft key, a guidance of a desired command is displayed.
