PURPOSE:To provide the titled block copolymer of specific structure constituted by polyhexylacrylate and polystyrene, capable of desorption or debonding action for protein, applicable to a wide range of sectors. CONSTITUTION:The objective ABA type block copolymer is constituted by polyhexyl acrylate (A)-polystyrene (B) structure of the formula (m and n are each 5-200). This copolymer can be obtained by reaction in a solution state at ambient temperature between (1) an one side-terminated amino group (NH2)-contg. polyhexyl acrylate and (2) a both side-terminated NCO group-contg. polystyrene in a ratio [NCO]/[NH2]=1.0-1.5 (pref. 1.2). Said copolymer is very weak in the interaction with protein, being used in coating on contact lenzes, substrates for controlled release of drug being embedded in vivo, appa ratuses or devices for test and measurement of protein, etc. and coating thereon.
