PURPOSE:To make it hard to set the book obliquely, to prevent the dislocating in the right and left directions and to make it easy to focus on the paper surface even when the contents of the book are automatically read by having the prescribed angle by the angle formed by the surface of the first mounting stand and the surface of the second mounting stand and shifting respective mounting stands in the upward and downward directions. CONSTITUTION:An angle theta made by a surface 11a of the first mounting stand 11 on which the book can be mounted and a surface 12a of the second mounting stand 12 in a mounting stand 1 comes to the prescribed angle. When the book is mounted on the mounting stand 1 and the pressure member does not pressurize the surface of the spread of the book, for the first and second mounting stands, the up and down positions of the first and second mounting stands 11 and 12 are stipulated by the force relation of the deadweight of the book, the energizing force of a coil spring 45 wound to a holding shaft 44 and a coil spring 46 for auxiliary wound to supporting shafts 41a and 41b. Here, when the surface of the spread of the book is abutted to a pressure member 3, the first and second mounting stands are relatively shifted in the up and down directions, the surface of the spread of the left-side half and the surface of the spread of the right-side half out of the surfaces of the spread of the book are respectively abutted to the pressure member 3.
