PURPOSE:To obtain excellent combustion performance by a method wherein a gun type burner with a characteristic structure is used so as to ensure the amount of combustion air, the ratio of which to the amount of oil is constant. CONSTITUTION:A proper amount of combustion air is supplied in the cylinder of a spray nozzle part 2 by starting an air supplying device 8. At the same time, the oil, which is sprayed from a spray nozzle 6 with a certain spray angle by actuating the fuel pump of an oil controlling device 21, is ignited with an ignition rod 7 so as to start the combustion, the heat of which heats a combustion tube 12, a vaporizing hollow cylindrical body 13 and a truncated cone-like vaporizing tube 15. The sprayed oil droplets are further vaporized by the heat of combustion and burnt in the respective tubes 12, 13 and 14 and flows out along the outer periphery of the hollow cylindrical body 13 in order to start blue flame combustion at a combustion part 24. The secondary air passing through a vent hole 28 flows in a combustion gas exhaust tube 9 so as to suppress the over-heating of the respective parts and to stabilize the combustion. Further, when the amount of air, which is about 1.5-2.5 times the theoretical amount of air necessary for complete combustion in response to the change of amount of oil, is supplied, stable blue flame combustion is ensured over the wide variable zone of the combustion rate.
