PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To obtain with high production efficiency a magnetic head which can be used with a magnetic recording medium for high density recording, by providing a metallic magnetic material to a groove having the width equivalent to a track and putting together the blocks of oxide magnetic material containing the metallic magnetic material into one body to produce a composite block in a prescribed form. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular parallelepiped block 11 of a ferrite magnetic material contains a groove 12 serving as a winding window and grooves 13 for control of track width. The glass 14 which is highly resistant to wear with melting point is filled into the grooves 13. Then the grooves 15 are formed with the width equivalent to the track width to the bloc 11 filled with the glass 14. Furthermore amorphous magnetic members 16 are provided to the grooves 15 and 12 by a sputtering process, etc. While a rectangular parallelepiped block 11' is also produced in the same way. Both blocks 11 and 11' are butted with each other so that the glass 14 and the member 16 are set opposite to each other. Then both blocks are unified together by means of the glass having a low melting point. Thus a composite block 17 is obtained.
