PURPOSE:To read a laser card at low cost by providing a fitting stand equipped with the loading means of a card-like optical recording medium and making it capable of being reproduced by means of a pickup. CONSTITUTION:When the laser card 15 is inserted into the loading hole 17 of the fitting stand 16, magnetic materials 21 and 21 at both sides of the laser card 15 are attracted to permanent magnets 19 and 19 and fixed firmly on the fitting stand 16. Afterward, a motor 12 is rotated to rotate and drive the fitting stand 16 together with a turn table 13. When said stand 16 reaches the prescribed speed, a control circuit system shifts the pickup 14 from the outside to the center of the rotation, for instance, at every rotation of the fitting stand 16. Then a light beam scans the coaxial and arc-like each bit string of the laser card 15, and stores sequentially read-out signals in memory. Since the reader of the laser card 15 is formed in such a way in a video disk player or a compact disk player device, it can be low-priced.
