PURPOSE:To detect a transmission code of one bit at a high detecting probability even from a transmitted waveform distorted by a transmission line having much disturbance by sampling a transmission signal every time sufficiently shorter than the transmitting time of one bit. CONSTITUTION:When the one-bit transmission period of a transmission code is defined as T, a sampling circuit 6 samples a transmission signal every sampling period sufficiently shorter than the period T. A memory circuit 7 stores n1 waveforms sampled by the circuit 6. A comparator 8 compares the n1 outputs applied from the memory circuit 7 with previously prepared m1 kinds of n1 comparing data, and when the outputs of the circuit 7 coincide with one kind out of m1 kinds in the comparing data, outputs the coincidence to a code converting circuit 9. The output of the circuit 9 is applied to a signal processing circuit 10. The circuit 10 processes the digital data converted from the transmission code and extracts necessary information.
