PURPOSE:To assure easy seeing of a display picture after forming a raster by sending a video signals of an optional picture which is generated by video signal generating means for a muting period which stops a sending video signal inputted through selecting means. CONSTITUTION:In case of video muting operation, terminals 22a and 22c of switches 22 are connected and switches 16 and 19 are opened and a switch 25 is closed. Then only an output composite video signal of a video signal generator 29 is supplied a mixer 20 and outputted from a terminal 27 after amplifying by a video amplifier 26. When the composite video signal is recorded in tape after signal processing the composite video signal of optional picture outputted from the video signal generator 29 is recorded in the tapes even in case of video muting operation. When some portion of picture corresponding to muting video tape is reproduced, optional picture is reproduced and assure easy seeing of the display images.
