PURPOSE:To decide the printing quality by photodetecting reflected laser rays by a polygontal mirror with a photosensitive element and analyzing its optical information. CONSTITUTION:The output laser rays of a laser semiconductor 1 are reflected by the polygontal mirror 3 through a lens 2. Then, the rays are reflected by a reflecting mirror 5 through a master lens 4 and reach a dummy drum 7. A CCD stationing plate 8 of the sensitizing element having plural picture elements is arranged so as to be positioned at the exposure face of the drum 7. As to photodetection information obtained from the CCD, accumulated information of a buffer is compared with an irradiating characteristic of the irradiated laser rays and processed with a comparing and processing circuit 9, and a decided result of the printing quality is outputted to a display 10.
