EVALUATING METHOD FOR FLICKER OF DISPLAY

PURPOSE:To perform invariably objective evaluation by comparing the light of a light source which is variable in the degree of modulation with the light of a display and evaluating a flicker on the basis of the degree of modulation of the light source when the flicker become equal. CONSTITUTION:The light source 2 is used which is usable in the degree of modulation at a constant light frequency. Then, the degree of modulation of the light source 2 depending upon a control part 3 is varied gradually and its emitted light is compared with the light of the display 1 to evaluate the degree of the flicker of the display 1 on the basis of the degree of modulation of the light source 2 when the flicker becomes equal. Consequently, invariably stable evaluation is possible without reference to the age and mental condition of an observer 4, the sensitivity to the flicker, etc.
