PURPOSE:To inspect a difficult area such as the neiborhood of an obstacle or the like by fitting an auxiliary mirror to a projectable arm at the side of a truck and opposing the auxiliary mirror to a part to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:A floor surface inspecting instrument 31 is carried in a chamber 11 through a wall hole 15 to inspect the floor surface 12. In an area where the truck 34 can run crossing over, a main mirror 37 is inclined downward by about 40 deg. and the floor surface 12 is reflected by the mirror 37 and picked up 35 an image while a stand 36 and the mirror 37 are turned somewhat. In case the area where the truck cannot run crossing over, for instance, the floor surface of the opposite shore of a groove is inspected, the stand 36 and the arm 48 are driven 41 and 56 respectively. Then, the main mirror 37 is faced sideways and an auxiliary mirror unit 49 is projected at the side of the truck 34 and the auxiliary mirror unit 49 is placed on the floor face of the opposite shore of the groove 63 and illuminated with a lamp of the unit 49 and the floor surface 12 is reflected by the half mirror of the unit 49 and the mirror 37 and picked up 35 the image and inspected. The floor face of an isolation chamber or the like where a man is inaccessible can be inspected with this constitution.
