PURPOSE:To use the titled copying machine in common with the copying of a microfilm and to expand the function of the copying machine by forming an image processing element capable of recording a microfilm image as a latent image, reading out the latent image recorded in the image processing element by light irradiation and irradiating the optical image to a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A BSO can be adopted as the image processing element simplified at its element constitution and provided with highly sensitive electro-optical effect and photoconductivity. Since the photoconductivity of the BSO monocrystal has sensitivity to short wavelength light (blue light) and is scarcely sensitive to long wavelength light (red light), the blue light is used for the writing of the optical image and the red light is used for its reading. A BSO image processor 27 is constituted by storing a lens 21 for forming the optical image read out from the BSO element 20 on a photosensitive drum 8, a light source 22 for irradiating the BSO element, an analyzer 23 formed on an optical path between the lens 21 and the BSO element, a red filter 24 formed between the BSO element and the light source 22, and a polarizer 25 in a housing 26.
