NEW MATERIAL:The antibiotic substance SF-2369 having the following physical and chemical properties when solvated with diethyl ether. Elemental analysis (%), C 58.49, H 8.14, N 17.44; molecular weight, 308 [331 (M+Na) by FD-MS, 309 (M+1) by SI-MS]; melting point, 45-47 deg.C; specific rotation, [alpha]<25>D=-21 deg. (C=1.0, methanol); solubility, soluble in water, methanol, ethanol and chloroform and insoluble in n-hexane; color reaction, positive to iodine reaction and Greig- Leaback reagent, negative to ninhydrin reaction; nature, neutral; appearance, colorless acicular crystal; etc. USE:Antimycotic agent and antibacterial agent. PREPARATION:A microbial strain belonging to Actinomadura genus and capable of producing SF-2369 substance [e.g. Actinomadura sp.SF-2369 (FERM P-8198)] is cultured preferably at 25-35 deg.C for 1-10 days. |
