PURPOSE:To secure a highly accurate sensor output over a long period of time, by setting a positional slip direction of a throttle shaft and a turning force transmission direction inside a connecting device connecting a throttle opening sensor and the throttle shaft so as to be crossed within the specified angle range. CONSTITUTION:When a bearing member 17 supporting a throttle shaft 16 is worn out due to long use and thereby a clearance is produced there, a throttle valve body 18 receives large suction pressure at the time of idling, whereby the shaft 16 causes a positional slip in a suction pressure acting direction. With this positional slip, a projection part 20a of a projection member 20 at the side of the throttle shaft of a connecting device 25 also moves in the same direction, and thereby a side face of the projection part 20a slides with a side face 24 of a projection member 12 at the sensor side of the connecting member 25, but the said member 12 receive not turning force. That is to say, since the said positional slip direction the direction where the turning force is transmitted by contact between both projection members 20 and 12 are crossed as far as 90 deg. with each other, the said projection member 12 is in no case rotated, thus a wrong signal out of a throttle opening sensor 1 is prevented from occurring.
