PURPOSE:To obtain the cooling apparatus for a compressor which has the simple constitution and has high reliability by controlling a cooling means for cooling the compressor by the output of a detecting means for detecting the temperature rise of the compressor. CONSTITUTION:The temperature rise of a compressor 1 is detected by a sensor 15 for detecting the discharge gas temperature of the compressor 1, and the output of the sensor 15 is input into a control circuit 14. Since, when the temperature of the compressor 1 increases, also the discharge gas temperature of the compressor 1 increases, the abnormal temperature of the compressor 1 is detected by the discharge gas temperature sensor 15, and a fan motor 12 is operated. The fan motor 12 is operated by the turning-OFF of a switch 16 by the output of the control circuit 14 which is caused by introducing the output of the sensor 15 into the control circuit 14.
