PURPOSE:To eliminate variation in synchronization due to the deformation of the waveform of a synchronizing signal by substituting a waveform-deforming synchronizing signal with a waveform-shaped synchronizing signal. CONSTITUTION:When a monochromatic television signal (a) containing a synchronizing signal with deforming waveform is inputted from an input terminal 1, the signal is branched into two and inputted to a synchronizing signal separating circuit 2 and a synchronizing signal removing circuit 4. The synchronizing signal separating circuit 2 separates the synchronizing signal from the signal (a) selectively to output a signal (b). The signal (b) has its waveform shaped and restored by a waveform shaping circuit 3 to become a signal (c). The synchronizing signal removing circuit 4, on the other hand, removing the synchronizing signal from the signal (a) selectively and outputs a signal (d). This signal (d) is delayed by a delay device 5 to becomes a signal (e) timed to the signal (c). Lastly, the signal is adjusted in amplitude ratio to the signal (e) by an amplitude controller 6 and then mixed with said signal (e) by a signal adder 7 to obtain a signal (f), which is outputted from an output terminal 8.
