PURPOSE:To form an image on a thick body easily and speedily at low cost by transferring the image to a temporary transfer sheet temporarily by electrostatic photographic processing and then transferring and fixing a toner image as the reverse image of the image. CONSTITUTION:The toner image as the reverse image is fixed on the temporary transfer sheet weakly while holding the temperature of the heat roller of the fixing part of an electrostatic copying machine lower than normal or without heating the heat roller. Then, the toner image which is transferred temporarily to the temporary transfer sheet to a proper degree of coupling is transferred and fixed on the thick body by using a transfer device. Namely, a file 1 and the temporary transfer sheet 2 to which the image is already transferred are placed oppositely to each other across a pad 7 so that the image formation surface of the file 1 and the toner image temporary transfer surface of the sheet 2 face each other. Then, the file 1 and sheet 2 are inserted into between rotating rollers 5 and 6 from the backbone side while both facing surfaces are superposed one over the other. The file 1 and sheet 2 are passed between the roller 5 and 6 at a constant speed while applied with constant pressure and heated by the heat roller 5. Consequently, a desired image is formed on the file 1.
