Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for managing power of an organic light emitting diode display through the selection of a color of a graphic user interface (GUI) object. According to the present invention, the method for managing power of an organic light emitting diode display through the selection of a color of a GUI object includes the steps of: initializing a color and a power limit of each of every GUI object; determining a power limit for the color of each of the GUI objects and determining an optimum color satisfying the power limit; and assigning the determined color to the corresponding GUI object, and showing a GUI assigned with the color to a user.
