In a magazine device for labels, with a main magazine (6) connected firmly to a labelling machine and with a receptacle (10), arranged behind it, for an exchangeable change magazine (9), there is arranged laterally next to the receptacle a vertical storage shaft (33) for a plurality of filled change magazines stacked one on top of the other, with an entry orifice (36) and a lower exit orifice (37). By means of a transfer device in the form of a slide (39), the respective lowest label stick is transferred out of the storage shaft into the receptacle. Thus, despite a small base area, a high storage capacity is possible. <IMAGE>
