A novel fluorine-containing diacylperoxide of the formula: [RO-CH2CF2CF2O-nCH2CF2COO-2 (I) wherein R is a C1-C10 hydrocarbon group or halogen-containing hydrocarbon group, and n is an integer of 0 to 3, which can initiate polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer at a relatively low temperature.
