PURPOSE:To permit to replace a former quickly by a method wherein tow kinds or more of formers are attached previously to a former supporting means and the same means is rotated and, thereafter, is positioned when the formers are replaced by different formers. CONSTITUTION:When the kind (diameter) of a former 2 is to be replaced, a supporting frame 7 is elevated after releasing a knock pin for positioning, a clutch 20 is released to drive the rotation of a rotary shaft 3e through a former rotating means 26 and arrange a desired former 2 in a high place (below a pressing roller 28), thereafter, the clutch 20 is engaged again and the knock pin is fitted. Then, the supporting frame 7 is descended and is set at a predetermined height so as to meet with the former 2 to be used. In this case, a necessary time for the setting is within several 10sec, therefore, the metal 10 of bead wire, fed out of a rubber coating device, can be stored temporarily by a festoon mechanism 11 whereby the feeding speed of the material 10 of the bead wire may be kept in constant.
