PURPOSE:An inhibitor against formation of peroxide lipide useful for ischemic heart disease, etc., having strong inhibitory action on peroxidation of lipid and protecting action in a model of reopening of cerebral ischemia, containing a specific pyrazolone derivative or its salt as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A pyrazolone derivative shown by formula I (R1 is H, aryl, 1-5C alkyl, etc.,; R2 is H, aryloxy, 1-5C alkyl, etc.,; or R1 and R2 show 3-5C alkylene; R3 is H, 1-5C alkyl, etc.,) or its salt is used as an inhibitor against formation of peroxide lipide. To be concrete, 3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one, etc., may be cited as the compound. The compound shown by the formula I is useful as a preventive and remedy for cerebrovascular disorder, reduction in brain function, ischemic heart disease, peripheral circulatory disorder, etc. A dose is preferably 1-100mg/day orally. the compound shown by the formula I is obtained by reacting a compound shown by formula II with a compound shown by formula III.
