PURPOSE:To confirm the reception of a facsimile message with higher accuracy by adding the confirmation of the message and message confirmation requesting information to the non-standard equipment signal and the non-standard equipment setting signal respectively. CONSTITUTION:When the information on the message confirmation is supplied, the communication control part 2 of a receiver sends the message confirmation signal MCF. If the information on the message confirmation is not supplied yet, the part 2 supplies not message MCF continuously before said message confirmation information is supplied. In this case, the flag patterns (01111110) are sent continuously before the signal MCF since the message is recognized previously by the non-standard equipment setting signal NSS before the facsimile message is transmitted. Thus it is possible if desired to extend the input allowable time for the information on the message confirmation.
