PURPOSE:To smoothly join an old coated film and a remedial coated film by forming the remedial first improvement base coated film and the remedial second base coated film on the first base coated film at the part to be remedied and then forming a clear coated film. CONSTITUTION:The first base coated film 2 is formed with a colored paint, the second base coated film 3 is formed thereon by weakly masking coating, and further a clear coated film 4 is formed thereon by a clear paint. When the coated film is partially remedied, the remedial first improvement base coated film 2'' is formed on the first base coated films 2 and 2' at the part to be remedied with the mixed paint of a colored paint and a weakly masking paint, the remedial second base coated film 3' is formed by the weakly masking paint or the weakly masking paint added with a clear paint, and then a remedial clear coated film 4' is formed with a clear paint. Consequently, the coloring from the remedial coated film is equalized to the coloring from the old coated film, and the old coated film and the remedial coated film are smoothly joined.
