PURPOSE:To increase the productivity of microminiature elements, by forming groove-type scribe lines in either direction of longitudinal or horizontal divisions and cutting the other direction wide by dicing, when a plurality of circuit patterns of each element are formed collectively on a substrate surface which is divided crosswise vertically and horizontally to make up individual elements. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of scribe lines 2 are formed for transversal division of each element arranged on the surface of a substrate 1 at the time of constituting a thick film element, and a thick film pattern is printed and sintered on the surface of the substrate 1. The substrate is cut in the longitudinal direction by dicing, and split in the transversal direction by breaking. For that purpose the lines 2 are provided in a linear manner so as not to reach its back surface. The substrate 1 is constituted of ceramic in which alumina is made in a form of thin plate. In the strip-form part divided by the lines 2, an electrode 3 and a conductor 4 are alternately arranged. To split the substrate along each line 2, a rubber roller is used as usual to pinch, split and break it.
