PURPOSE:To obtain an asphalt foam having excellent properties and excellent dimensional stability, by adding molten asphalt, water, an amine catalyst and a silicone oil to a polyurethane prepolymer and agitating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:30-400pts.wt. molten asphalt, a suitable amount of water, an amine catalyst and a silicone oil and, optionally, a tin catalyst, a filler, etc., is added to 100pts.wt. polyurethane prepolymer. The obtained mixture is foamed with agitation to obtain the purpose asphalt foam. When the amount of the asphalt added is smaller than 30ptw.wt., per 100pts.wt. urethane prepolymer, the desired property can not be attained, while when it is larger than 400pts.wt., curing is slow. Therefore, neither is desirable. The water is added as a blowing agent and its amount of addition is suitably about 0.5-20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. said prepolymer.
