PURPOSE:To perform the optimum image reproduction of a color image, characters, and lines which are present all together by forming plural copy images and a monochromatic image together on the same recording material according to the mode specification of each area of an original image. CONSTITUTION:An original image area is specified by a digitizer 68 and a plural-color mode or monochromatic copy mode of black, etc., as to the specified area is specified by an operation part 67. The controller 74 composed of a CPU 69, a ROM 71, a RAM 72, an I/O port 73, etc., brings a stepping motor 49 for original scanning, a synchronizing signal generating circuit 82 which generates a synchronizing signal for masking the scanning, etc., under process control according to said specification. At the same time, a color processing circuit 76 is also brought under process control to copy respective areas of the original image so that plural color copies and a monochromatic image area present all together by multiple copying. Therefore, characters, lines, etc., formed in monochromatic black are not copied plural times, so they are reproduced excellently without shifting from one another.
