NEW MATERIAL:A charge-transfer complex having isoquinoline substituted by amyl group at the N-position as a donor and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane as an acceptor. USE:Useful for imparting electric conductivity to high polymers, electrolytes in semiconductors, cells or batteries, etc., active materials for positive poles, antistatic agents, heat-sensitive materials, photoconductive materials, display devices, solid electrolytes in condensers, etc., and having particularly electric conductivity and thermal stability. PREPARATION:Amyl iodide is reacted with isoquinoline in an alcoholic solvent while refluxing and then with 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane in acetonitrile to afford the aimed charge-transfer complex.
