PURPOSE:To prevent a temperature rise in compressor motor and ensure the safe operation of airconditioning equipment by restricting motor speed set on a control signal for compressor capacity within a predetermined range, according to the temperature of a motor coil. CONSTITUTION:Temperature detected by a thermal sensor 7 for measuring the temperature of a coil for a compressor 9 is inputted into a control circuit 8 as a temperature signal. The control circuit 8 normally commands the number of revolutions of a compressor motor, corresponding to an airconditioning load, and grasps the upper limit of compressor capacity, referring to a table corresponding to an inputted signal, when the temperature signal of the compressor motor has been inputted. Then, said circuit 8 commands the speed of the compressor motor depending upon the airconditioning load, within a range not exceeding the upper limit of the compressor capacity. A temperature rise in the coil of the compressor motor is thereby prevented and the safe operation of airconditioning equipment is ensured.
