PURPOSE:To exchange casting molds at a higher speed with less manpower so that production output and safety are improved and that a device for exchanging the casting molds is made simpler by executing the mold transfer in the stage of exchanging the molds by a traveling carriage system and attaching and detaching the mold to and from a melting chamber by a drawing chamber which is partly lifted to lift the mold. CONSTITUTION:The casting mold 1 set is separately assembled and after wheels 7 are mounted thereto, the carriage 14 thereof is run is rails 8 and is stopped at a casting position, where a drawing side joining flange 12 of the drawing chamber 3 is jacked up by jacks 10 to join a joining flange 5 on the top surface of the mold 1 to a joining flange 4 on the melting side. The jack up is stopped when the prescribed pressing force is attained. airtightness is assured by sealing members 9, 13 disposed to the flanges 5, 12. The operation is executed by the procedure reverse from the above-mentioned mounting procedure to dismounted and exchange the used mold 1.
