PURPOSE:To curtail a necessary storage capacity of the same sound word sequence storage area, and to prevent a state that a selected word overflows from the same sound word sequence storage part, by updating the same sound word sequence information in the same sound sequence storage area, as for a word which is selected from the same sound word sequence storage area. CONSTITUTION:The same sound word selecting part 5 displays the first candidate on a display part 6, and thereafter, in case different characters of the same sound exist, they are displayed successively on the display part 6 by inputting the next candidate indicating code from the same sound word designating device 8. The same sound word sequence registering part 7 registers the same sound word sequence of a selected word in the same sound word sequence storage part 4 only in case the word which is selected by the same sound word selecting part 5 is not the first candidate. The same sound word designating device 8 outputs the next candidate designating code and a definite code for signifying a selecting completion in the different characters of the same sound, to the same sound word selecting part 5. The same sound word sequence updating part 9 updates the same sound word sequence in the same sound word sequence storage part of the same sound word, as the latest registered word, only in case the word which is selected by the same sound word selecting part 5 is that which is obtained from the same sound word sequence storage part 4.
