PURPOSE:To obtain a steel sheet for easy-opening can ends extremely excellent in can openability and easy-opening with minimized force, by providing a soft and thin steel sheet in which thickness is regulated to the prescribed dimensional range and yield point and tensile strength are also regulated to prescribed values, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A steel slab containing, by weight, 0.001-0.07% C, 0.4% Mn, <=0.003% P, <=0.03% S, 0.005-0.010% Al, and <=0.0080% N is hot-rolled, descaled, and then cold-rolled. In the above cold rolling, the plate is rolled so that final thickness comes to 0.15-<0.23mm. Then the sheet is subjected to skin pass rolling at a draft where the yield point of steel sheet and tensile strength are 30kg/mm<2> and 39kg/mm<2>, respectively, e.g., <5%. The resulting steel sheet for easy-opening can ends is reduced in both pop value and tear value and is easy to open.
