PURPOSE:To exactly measure a time width at a high speed and also in a real time, by converting a fraction time to a voltage and A/D-converting it directly, and thereafter, calculating it by a processor, etc. CONSTITUTION:A signal having a time width to be measured, which has been inputted from an input terminal P1 is inputted to a controlling circuit 20 through an amplifier 10. The controlling circuit 20 leads in a signal from the input amplifier 10 and a clock signal, and outputs a fraction time pulse signal of a pulse width corresponding to a fraction time and a gating clock signal. A counter 30 measures the number of times by which the gating clock signal crosses some level, and a fraction time measuring circuit 50 leads in a signal of the same period as that of the fraction time pulse signal and the clock signal, and outputs a signal which becomes the base for calculating a fraction time. Outputs of the counter 30 and the fraction time measuring circuit 50 are led into a processor 60, and the time width is calculated.
