PURPOSE:To make it possible to directly measure the radioactivity of high temp. gas, by alternately mounting a heat insulating cylinder and a heat transfer cylinder in a high temp. gas chamber so as to form a multiple structure and providing a radiation detector therein. CONSTITUTION:High temp. gas taken into a chamber 23 from a gas inlet 19 is exhausted from a gas outlet 21. Radioactive rays from the high temp. gas are projected into a radiation detector in the chamber 23 to measure radiation. At this time, the heat from the high temp. gas in the chamber 23 is insulated by heat insulating cylinders 25, 29 and inhibited from directly reaching the radiation detector 23. The heat transferred from the outside heat insulating cylinder 25 is absorbed by a heat transfer cylinder 27 and dissipated to the circumferential environment by heat dissipating fins 31.
