PURPOSE:To transfer data generated on a device side to a main device side even when a trigger signal is not generated on the main device side by converting the output signal and state signal of a holding circuit means into a series signal by a device-side interface in synchronism with a pseudo trigger signal and then transmitting it to the main device side. CONSTITUTION:When an acknowledge signal is outputted, the flip-flop in a device interface 7 is set, so an acknowledge FF signal goes up to a level '1' and the flip-flop is reset in synchronism with the fall of a transfer strobe. Namely, the generation of the acknowledge signal is held in the flip-flop until the transfer strobe rises. The parallel two-bit signal of the acknowledge FF signal and status signal is converted into a series two-bit signal by the device interface 7 in synchronism with the fall of the transfer strobe. Then, this series two-bit signal is converted by a photoelectric converter 6 into a light signal, which is transmitted to the photoelectric converter 4 on the side of the main device 1 and converted into an electric signal, which is further converted into a parallel signal by the main device interface 2 and sent to the main device 1.
