PURPOSE:To enable a control valve to be machined readily and port positions to be identical with those of standard valves by forming a circular recessions on the outer periphery of the spool of the valve and forming communication passages in the axial direction in the interior of the recessions. CONSTITUTION:A circular recessions 28 and 29 are formed on the outer periphery of the spool S of a control valve V for controlling the capacity of a variable capacity axial motor (m), and communication passages 33 and 34 are formed in the axial direction in the interiors of the recessions. Since by such constitution, the same number of circular grooves as that of ports has only to be formed on a valve body, and the number of the circular grooves corresponds to that of the ports, the valve can be readily machined, and also port positions can be identical with that of standard valves.
