PURPOSE:To automate a coil fitting work by arranging the 1st, 2nd photo-electric tube detectors respectively before and behind at the prescribed distance based on the tip part of a reel drum. CONSTITUTION:A coil car 3 is arranged on a rail 4 in oppositing to the reel drum 2 of a payoff reel 1. Moreover, the 1st, 2nd photoelectric tube detector PH1, PH2 are arranged at the prescribed distance l1, l2 at the front part and rear part with the tip part of the reel drum 2 as the reference. A pulse generator PG starts the measurement of the moving distance of the truck 3, when the detector PH1 senses the coil tip with the coil car 3 approaching to the reel 1. Then, the possibility of the fitting of coil 7 is confirmed by sensing the coil end by the detector PH2. In this way, the automation of the coil fitting work is made possible because the fall of the coil 7 can be prevented in advance.
