PURPOSE:To improve the releasability of a metallic mold and the adhesion of the surface layer film of the metallic mold and to prolong the life of the metallic mold by coating a thin film mixed with C-BN and amorphous BN on the molding surface of the base stand of the metallic mold consisting of metals or ceramics. CONSTITUTION:The forming mold 1 is composed of the base stand 2 of the metallic mold consisting of metals or ceramics and the thin film layer 3 coated on the molding surface 2a in the base stand 2. In this case, the thin film layer 3 can be coated on the whole base stand 2. The thin film layer 3 to be coated on the molding surface 2a of the base stand 2 is formed with a BN film mixed with C-BN and amorphous BN, and the thin film layer 3 is coated at least on the molding surface of the base stand 2 by sputtering. Although the presence of h-BN can be rarely recognized in the mixture of C-BN and amorphous BN, the layer can be applied to the forming die 1 without any trouble even in this case.
