PURPOSE:To improve reliability by providing a filter to the front side near a magnetic head in the turning direction of a magnetic disk group so as to prevent sticking of foreign matter or dust to the magnetic head placed between magnetic disks. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 2 is mounted on a carriage 3 and fitted so as to be in straight line reciprocating motion toward the center direction of the magnetic disk group. Since the filter 6 is provided at the front side near the magnetic head 2 in the turning direction of the magnetic disk group 1 between disks of the magnetic disk group 1, the air flowing from the opening of a clamping 4 passes through a spindle hub and jetted to the outside of the radial direction between the disks of the magnetic disk group 1 through a spacer ring opening. Since the filter 6 is provided at the front side of the magnetic head 2 between disks of the magnetic disk group 1, no foreign matter/dust in air is stuck on the magnetic head 2 and the reliability of recording/ reproduction is improved.
